Looking back at 09-10

Hello :]
I dunno if anyone still reads this...but I came across this blog again...and...woww. Looking back at all the brainstormed designs and discussions, it's really cool to see how far we've come, and how much the concepts have evolved. o.O
Evolved...in a good way. The tshirts & buttons were amazing this year; great job to Media.:D
Yupp. So...I could resist commenting on this.
I think the blog idea was really cool, and it's definitely good that y'all started theme-designing over the summer. Or at SVR 2009, actually...o.o Because now we can review how it all started.
:D
So yupp. Keep up the good work. :]
Go Media, 10-11~

Hehheh,

Anna's Tshirt Designs

Some of these were older designs, but I thought I'd upload all of them.

Sections of the pyramid

So, while I was sketching, I realized that there is no definite list of what will go in the different sections of the pyramid.

The top-most section will be "off limits" things (extras), like duct tape, zip ties, twine, etc. The bottom-most section will be sponsors, mentors, donors, etc, since we wouldn't be able to do anything without them.

What should the middle 4 sections be? I was thinking that if needed, we could possibly increase the number of sections (5? 6?). Should these sections be based off of the different subgroups? Maybe, media, electronics, build (generic stuff, like chaining, nuts, bolts, etc?), programming, and CAD? (I just took these off of the list of different training lectures for the fall) Should welding be included?

We could say that robots working in the different sections is teamwork, since they're all working towards a common goal, or we could have a bunch of robots working to raise a flag with the FIRST logo on top of the pyramid.

Starting out...

The first image shows two different styles of pyramids. The labeling to the side of the bottom section of the top pyramid reads "Sponsors, Mentors, Parents, Teachers" - basically anyone outside of team members that make the team possible.

The second image has sketches of the two types of pyramids, as well as ideas about what to put in the top- and bottom-most sections. Ms. Ward talked about possibly having 2 different sets of buttons. One set might contain the phrases (and appropriate visuals) "eat robotics" "drink robotics" and "sleep robotics" or something similar, while the other might contain pictures of the different robotics "food groups" shown in the pyramid.

The pyramid will appear on the back of the tshirt, while the buttons will be distributed at competition and will possibly be used as advertisement for the team. Buttons are 2 1/4" in diameter.

What do you think are the pros and cons of each type of pyramid? Which should we go with?

Do you have any other ideas for button designs? Feel free to sketch out your ideas and upload them as a separate post to open them up for discussion.
